Star Dice Deluxe is played on four small three-by-three grids, set side by side under a starry sky. Each round, the game generates a sequence of symbols and you decide which grid it goes into. Coloured dice, Chinese characters and a red star compete for the squares: this RedPanda title belongs to the online casino dice family, where you place symbols rather than roll them.
Three things set it apart from its neighbours in the catalogue: a bonus wheel triggered by three stars, a stock of Mystery Games that stays tied to the stake that won it, and three jackpots that grow with every bet, shown at the top of the screen. Here is how each one works, with the figures taken from the game rules.
Each grid has nine squares and five lines: the three horizontal rows and the two diagonals. A line scores as soon as it holds three identical symbols. You are free to pick the grid that receives each new sequence, and a grid's points appear on it once it is full.
What a line is worth depends on the symbol. The strongest Chinese character pays 120 points; the other two characters and the yellow die pay 60 each; the blue and red dice 40; the green, pink and turquoise dice 20. The star has no points value in the table: its job is to start the wheel, as you will see further down. So everything comes down to placement: load one grid with high-value symbols, or spread your points across all four.
Points turn into money through a table that stays on screen, top right. At a €1 stake, 100 points pay €2, 150 points €3, 200 points €4, 250 points €5, 300 points €6 and 400 points €8. Then the table speeds up: 500 points pay €20, 700 points €60 and 1,000 points €100. The amounts follow your stake, so the table runs from 2 to 100 times whatever you bet.
Two bonuses lift a round's total. Scoring in three of the four grids multiplies your points by 1.5; scoring in all four multiplies them by 2. On top of that, nine identical symbols in a single grid add 200 points. A round worth 160 points spread over the four grids therefore climbs to 320 points, enough to clear the 300 step.
Three stars on a winning line, during a normal round, open the Wheel of Stars. The wheel spins by itself and can award up to 1,000 points, the value of the top step in the table.
If it stops on the stars, a second wheel takes over and sets a random number of Mystery Games. The rules do not list the segments of either wheel: only the 1,000-point ceiling is stated.
During a Mystery Game, every winning result, meaning 100 points or more, pays the highest amount in the table: 100 times the stake. At €1, a round that only just reaches 100 points therefore pays €100 instead of €2.
Those rounds are not necessarily played straight away. They go into a stock, shown under the game logo with the word "Mystery", and start automatically on later rounds, on one condition: you play at the stake that won them. A stock won at €0.50 is worth €50 per winning result as long as you stay at €0.50; switch to another amount and it will not trigger, because it stays tied to the original stake.
Above the grids, three counters display the Mini, Midi and Mega jackpots. When the feature is active, every bet has a chance of landing one of them, at any point in the session. The counter that pays out then drops back to its base value.
Every bet feeds all three pots: 0.3% for the Mini, 0.3% for the Midi and 0.4% for the Mega, 1% of the amount played in all, a share the game adjusts according to the gap between each pot's base value and its target value. The funds are shared across games from the same supplier, so they also grow with rounds played on RedPanda's other games.
You set the stake before each round, from €0.25 to €50, and it fixes the amounts in the table. The maximum win stated in the rules is 100 times the stake: €25 at the minimum bet, €5,000 at the maximum. It comes from 1,000 points in the base game or 100 points during a Mystery Game. Because the Mystery Game stock depends on the amount you play, it makes sense to pick one you intend to keep for a while, within a budget you set in advance using the responsible gaming tools.
Before any real money goes in, demo mode starts you off with a virtual balance of €1,000 so you can watch the grids, the wheel and the stock at work; it opens without registration. When a round ends well, the money follows without delay: Casino King, the casino of instant withdrawals, lets you withdraw your winnings free of charge, evenings and weekends included, from €50 and up to €1,000 a day, once your account is verified.
The rules state a theoretical return to player of 94.17%. Worked out over a very large number of rounds, it means the game pays back €94.17 on average for every €100 staked. The figure says nothing about a single session: a few dozen rounds can end well above or well below it, which is simply how chance works.
The rate is set by the studio for the whole game. You can check it at any time on the game limits page of the built-in help, next to the maximum win.
Placing symbols on four grids is not unique to one studio. Infinity Dice, from Air Dice, rests on the same basis: four grids of five lines, ×1.5 and ×2 multipliers, a 200-point bonus and Mystery Games paying 100 times the stake. The difference lies in the bonus. Infinity Dice asks you to accept or refuse a reward; the RedPanda game lets the wheel decide on its own, then holds the Mystery Games for your stake. Add RedPanda's three shared jackpots and you have two games that look alike on paper but play very differently.
