Responsible gaming

At Casino King, playing is a form of entertainment. It is not a source of income and not a solution to financial difficulty. The vast majority of players keep a firm hold on their habits; for those who no longer can, practical tools and trained professionals exist, and this page points you straight to them.

Casino King is a licensed Belgian operator, holder of licence B+19763 issued by the Belgian Gaming Commission. That framework places concrete player-protection obligations on us, which we set out below without hedging.

The Belgian legal framework that protects you

Belgium applies one of the strictest gambling regulations in Europe. Four rules concern you directly.

  • 21 years minimum. Access to casino games is prohibited below the age of 21. Your identity and age are verified before you stake anything, through itsme or your electronic identity card.

  • Systematic EPIS checks. Before every login, your surname, first name and date of birth are checked against the register of excluded persons held by the Gaming Commission. No legal operator can bypass it.

  • A deposit limit of €200 per seven-day period. This ceiling applies by default, on every site. You are free to lower it.

  • No credit cards. Payment by credit card is prohibited on Belgian gambling sites, to prevent play from being funded on borrowed money.

Your control tools on Casino King

These legal protections are a floor, not a ceiling. From your account, you can tighten your own limits at any time.

One principle governs the whole system: every restriction takes effect immediately, every relaxation is delayed. If you lower your deposit limit, the new value applies at once. If you want to raise it, the request is only carried out after a 72-hour cooling-off period. That asymmetry is deliberate: it protects you from a decision made in the heat of the moment, at precisely the point when judgement is least reliable.

You also have a time-out period, which suspends access to your account for a length you choose, and a self-exclusion if you would rather cut things off for good. Both sit in your player profile. Your gaming history remains available at all times: it is often the first sign that a habit is slipping, because figures do not soften the way memory does.

Seven markers for keeping control

  • Set your budget before you play, never during. That amount should be money whose loss changes nothing about your month.

  • Never try to win back a loss. It is the most expensive reflex there is, and the one that turns a bad evening into a lasting problem.

  • Chance cannot be worked on. Every result comes from a certified random number generator. No strategy, no run and no ritual has any effect on the next turn.

  • Do not play under the influence of alcohol, tiredness or strong emotion. Risk-taking measurably increases in those states.

  • Set an alarm and stop when it goes off, whether you are up or down.

  • Never borrow in order to play, from anyone, in any form.

  • Keep gaming in its place. If it encroaches on your work, your sleep or the people around you, it already takes up too much room.

Recognising risky behaviour

The questions below are used by professionals to open an assessment. Answer them honestly, for yourself or for someone close to you.

  • Do you play to escape worries, boredom or frustration?

  • Do you sometimes play for longer or for more than you intended?

  • Have you tried to stop without succeeding?

  • Do you feel irritable or tense when you cannot play?

  • Do you play again to recover money you have lost?

  • Have you lied to those close to you about your stakes or your losses?

  • Have you borrowed, sold or taken from another budget to carry on?

  • Has gaming had consequences for your work, your finances or your relationships?

Several affirmative answers do not amount to a diagnosis, but they do justify speaking to a professional. The organisations listed below respond free of charge and anonymously.

Excluding yourself through EPIS

EPIS is the register of persons excluded from gambling, run by the Belgian Gaming Commission since 2004. Any adult may ask to be entered on it, for a set period or permanently. Registration is free.

Once registered, your access is automatically blocked across every Belgian casino and gaming arcade, online and physical alike. No licensed operator may accept your deposit. The request is made directly to the Gaming Commission, at gamingcommission.be.

You may also request an access ban for a third party, someone close to you whose behaviour concerns you. That procedure is more tightly framed than self-exclusion, and the Commission sets out its conditions.

Protecting minors

Casino games are strictly prohibited to anyone under 21. If a minor or a young adult has access to your device, several parental control programmes can block gambling sites: Net Nanny, Qustodio or CYBERsitter, among others.

Never leave your login details within reach, and sign out after every session, particularly on a shared device.
